2010 National Park Week ~ Apr. 17th-25th, 2010

Friend of the National Park Foundation,

From April 17 – 25, we’ll celebrate what we all have inherited as Americans – 84 million acres of the world’s most spectacular scenery, historic landmarks and cultural treasures. Best of all – it’s FREE! All week admission fees have been waived for the 392 national parks across the country – so go out and find that national park near you!

Check out these resources to help you support, visit, share and volunteer during National Park Week:

* Visit –Plan the perfect park week adventure using trip-planning tools at www.nationalparkweek.org.

* Share – Share a park and shape a life! Take a young person to the parks and help guarantee their future for a lifetime. Download our just-released Owner’s Guide, “Parks for Play: 35 National Park Adventures for Kids of All Ages”, by clicking here.

* Volunteer – Volunteer your time at a national park in your community. A full list of volunteer opportunities can be found at www.nps.gov/npweek. You can join NPF partner Bank of America whose associates are volunteering to cleanup park lands, rebuild trails and restore native habitats at national parks across the country. Learn more at www.nationalparkweek.org.

* Support – Give back to the parks during one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. This month, Macy’s is matching any gift made to the National Park Foundation through its stores or online dollar for dollar – with a fundraising goal of $1 million! Donate today by clicking here or at any Macy’s store.

And don’t forget to share your national park stories with others! Record your trip to the parks with a young person and post your stories, photos and videos in our Facebook community.

Now get out there and Go Parks!
