Umphrey’s McGee NYE Run 2014 DVD Release

Umphrey's McGee - NYE Run 2014 DVD

From Umphrey’s McGee

5 Nights of New Year’s Run 2014 > 2015 Video Unleashed. Umphrey’s McGee returned to Atlanta’s Tabernacle to celebrate the New Year’s Eve Run 2014-15. For the first time ever, UM held residency for five straight raucous nights. The run had everything a diehard UM fan could hope for: new song debuts, a special appearance by Mad Dog’s Filthy Little Secret Horns, exploratory improvisation, tight transitions and not to be outdone, the guys playing an encore in bath robes.

This five-night run can now be relived in multi-cam HD with crisp soundboard audio. Purchase each night on Blu-ray, DVD or Digital Download or bundle the entire run and save 25% across the board.”

Umphrey’s McGee Release “From The Vault” Live 10.22.04 featuring Phil Lesh

Umphrey's McGee - From the Vault 10.22.04

From Umphrey’s McGee
“On a crisp October day in 2004, we rolled into the Bay Area for our second show ever at the legendary Great American Music Hall. If you have ever set foot inside those hallowed halls, you understand the “if these walls could talk” feeling that permeates the room. Home to countless legendary performances from Sonny Rollins to the Grateful Dead, the energy is undeniable. Our excitement about that show returns today as we roll out the previously unreleased, re-mastered matrix recording from the vault.

The show featured the debut of “Great American,” with the venue appropriately serving as the song’s namesake. Phil Lesh dropped by and joined in on “Robot World,” as well as the first rendition of “Franklin’s Tower” since 1998. Throw in “Divisions” > “Glory” > “Divisions” and some humorous banter about Blue Öyster Cult and you’ve got classic UM.

This archival release is available exclusively via in a variety of digital formats including lossless options. We’ve pressed a special three-disc set for those of you who like to exercise all your senses. In addition, we’re also reducing pricing on CDs across ALL SHOWS on Finally, you can subscribe to and automatically have streaming access to this show as well as over a thousand others.

Check out the full set list here and thanks for supporting music. Happy listening!”

Dumpstaphunk Presents A Throwback Phunksgiving 1970’s Tribute Set 11.26.14

Phunksgiving 2014

From Dumpstaphunk

“Live For Live Music and Equifunk present “A Throwback Phunksgiving” evening with Dumpstaphunk featuring a special 1970’s tribute set with special guests Eric Krasno (Lettuce/Soulive), Todd Stoops (Kung Fu), Brandon “Taz,” and DJ Quickie Mart at BB King’s Blues Club on Wednesday, November 26th, 2014 at 9:00pm. The band will perform renditions of Led Zeppelin, The Meters, Parliament Funkadelic and Sly & The Family Stone and music from the 70’s.

Dumpstaphunk stands out among New Orleans’ best as one of the funkiest bands to ever arise from the Crescent City. Born on the Jazz & Heritage Festival stage, and descended from Neville family bloodlines, these soldiers of funk ignite a deep, gritty groove that dares listeners not to move. Their performances combine ingenious musicianship and complex funk and jazz arrangements with soulful melodies that are simple enough for anyone to enjoy.

In Big Easy tradition, dueling basslines from Tony Hall and Nick Daniels III set off one of the dirtiest rhythm sections on the planet, while Ivan Neville lights up the Hammond B3 keys and cousin Ian Neville’s funky guitar riffs send the groove into overdrive. They toss around lead vocals and four-part harmonies the way Sly & the Family Stone did, but with three studio albums under their belt, Dumpstaphunk stands on the merit of their own material. Songs like “Dancin’ To The Truth” off their latest record, Dirty Word (July 30, 2013, Louisiana Red Hot Records), offer an escape into the funky sublime, sharing the true spirit of New Orleans with every note.”
