I had the opportunity to tend bar at the local VFW (Veterans of Foreign War) and learned a lot about men, women & families that have served in the military. It became clear to me how deep the physical and emotional scars are on the men & women who have gone to war. You can also see that these wounds don’t just affect the person that served, but also their friends and family. I have seen with my own eyes women, children, & even grandchildren dealing with hardships because they had a family member that served our country. We need politicians that really want to do what is best for the people that they are representing.
