From SuwanneeHulaween.com

Silver Wrapper and Purple Hat Productions have added new artists to the lineup for the second annual Suwannee Hulaween including electronic producers, Shpongle (Simon Posford DJ set) & Emancipator, legendary rock guitarist The Dean Ween Group, Suwannee Bluegrass Surprise, Kung Fu, Thievery Corporations’ Rob Garza DJ set, Nashville’s hottest Americana Folk Trio Judah and the Lion, Ghost Owl, Strung Like a Horse, Jonathan Scales Fourchestra, Shane Pruitt Band, Suenalo, Beartoe and Post Pluto.

Fans will be treated to all these acts plus three nights & seven sets of Cheese, along with a surprise-filled three-set Halloween show themed ‘The Afterlife’. Asking fans, “what do YOU want to be in the afterlife?” Silver Wrapper, Purple Hat and SCI encourage guests to become part of the show with theatrics and costumes that interpret their take on life after death. Tap into mythology, philosophy, religion and the supernatural to transcend into the next physical realm. What do YOU want to be in the next life?

For the first time ever Hulaween will also host a Thursday night pre-party featuring heavy hitting artists Electron (Aron Magner & Marc Brownstein of The Disco Biscuits/Conspirator, Tom Hamilton of Brothers Past/American Babies/JRAD, and Mike Greenfield of Lotus), a special “Thursday Surprise” to be announced in a few weeks, and Particle. Tickets are available for $40 advance/$50 gate and include camping.

Set in the midst of 800 acres of Spanish moss-draped oak and cypress along the Suwannee River, SOSMP is one of the most beautiful live music venues in the country. At Suwannee Hulaween festival goers can get ready for the return of Spirit Lake – an artistic glowing menagerie of multimedia metalwork, paintings, sculptures, light projections and live performances that morphs the prehistoric-looking forest into a vivid dream-like space. With hardly any overlapping sets throughout the weekend, attendees have plenty of time to wonder the mystical campgrounds abuzz with costumed fans and interactive theme camps while not missing any music they want to experience.

Tickets are currently available for $209 including all taxes, fees and camping. For SOSMP fans that want to return two weeks later to Bear Creek Music & Art Festival November 13 – 16, 2014 featuring Umphrey’s McGee, Lettuce, Dumpstaphunk, The Budos Band, The New Mastersounds and more, a combo ticket is available for $360. Use the EZ Pay option to break the cost down into two easy payments.

The End of The New Deal?

From TheNewDeal.com
“The New Deal has decided that 2011 will mark the end of a spectacular 12-year career.

It has been an amazing run for the band and we appreciate the loyal and dedicated tND fanbase across North America and Asia. Our individual lives have taken very different paths with family, living abroad, and other various projects. We have come to a point where the time and commitment that it takes to maintain our band at its best is no longer possible. As a group, we’ve never been known to go halfway, so we have decided to end things with a great run of summer and fall shows that we hope to be the best yet.”
