AURA Music Festival 2015 Adds Moe., The Main Squeeze & More

“AURA Music Festival 2015 has announced the addition of iconic jamband moe. to the already impressive 2015 line-up making this the biggest year yet for the homegrown music festival. Taking place at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) in Live Oak, Florida March 6 – 8, moe. will play two sets, joining headlining artists The Disco Biscuits, Papadosio and Snarky Puppy.

AURA has also added two sets by high-energy funk quintet The Main Squeeze including a very special Tribute to Michael Jackson, along with returning artists Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and McLovins. Chicago’s versatile electronic trio Cosby Sweater will make their AURA debut along with South Florida’s improvisational Stinky Pockets. True to AURA’s collaborative nature artists-at-large The Shady Horns (Ryan Zoidis and Eric Bloom of Lettuce) will pop up in several sets throughout the weekend with their sax and trumpet in tow.

For fans that want to arrive early, Ghost Owl has been added to the Thursday night pre-party with Dopapod and Kung Fu. Tickets are available as part of the four-day ticket package.

Details on the VIP Experience with two options to take the AURA fan journey to the next level are now available. Perks of the program include a VIP Lounge in the concert area with a private bar, discounted beverages, massages, gift bag, daily meet & greet with select bands and delicious catered meals alongside AURA staff and artists.

Set in the midst of 800 acres of Spanish moss-draped oak and cypress trees along the Suwannee River, the venue is a playground for endless activities such as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, disc golf and biking. “AURA Music Events has announced the phase one line-up for the sixth annual AURA Music & Arts Festival 2015 featuring two full sets by The Disco Biscuits, two nights of Papadosio, Snarky Puppy, Kung Fu, Dopapod, RAQ, Jimkata, Consider the Source, American Babies, The Mantras, The Mike Dillon Band, Ghost Owl, Fusik, Ketchy Shuby and Uproot Hootenanny.

Returning to their home at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) in Live Oak, Florida March 6 – 8, 2015, AURA is a much-loved celebratory weekend of music, art, yoga and workshops attracting fans from around the country. The grounds are also home to one of the most beautiful natural amphitheaters in the US made only more awe-inspiring by AURA’s strong attention to sound and lighting production.

Set in the midst of 800 acres of Spanish moss-draped oak and cypress trees along the Suwannee River, the venue is a playground for endless activities such as swimming, canoeing, kayaking, disc golf and biking. The park also offers guest comforts including a general store, full-service restaurant, free showers, indoor bathrooms and water stations.

For festivalgoers that wish to arrive a day early and settle in at the park, AURA is hosting a Thursday night pre-party featuring Kung Fu and Dopapod.

A very limited number of Early Bird tickets go on sale July 1. Early Bird tickets are $135 for a 3-day Weekend Pass or $165 for a 4-day Weekend Pass which includes the Thursday pre-party (all taxes, fees and camping included). General on-sale and VIP Program will be announced and made available on August 1st.”

Jimkata’s innovative, fan-funded record Die Digital turned the heads of critics and musicians when it dropped in the Fall of 2012, solidifying the band’s reputation as forward-thinking artists to pay attention to. Having been a mainstay of the Northeast jam circuit since 2006, Jimkata’s refined electro-rock sound is one of a band that has found its voice after years of experimentation. It’s more indie rock than jam, and more electro-pop than EDM; yet the four-piece appeals to each of these audiences. In the spirit of LCD Soundsystem, MGMT and Talking Heads, Jimkata’s relevant, quotable lyrics create moods not just for fleeting moments, but for the lifestyle of an entire generation. Jimkata Release Latest EP ‘Feel In Light’

Jimkata has released, Feel in Light, a four-track EP recorded with producer Jocko Randall at his MoreSound Studios in Syracuse, who also produced the band’s last full-length album, 2012’s Die Digital. Feel In Light represents the continued evolution of Jimkata, exploring themes of love, triumph and appreciating second chances in life. 

Jimkata’s refined electro-rock sound is one of a band that has found its voice after years of experimentation. It’s more indie rock than jam, and more electro-pop than EDM; yet the four-piece appeals to each of these audiences. In the spirit of LCD Soundsystem, MGMT and Talking Heads, Jimkata’s relevant, quotable lyrics create moods not just for fleeting moments, but for the lifestyle of an entire generation. In support of the new EP the band will continue on a national tour across the country and back.

Jimkata Releases ‘Ten More Songs!” Live Album

“Jimkata has released their first official live album, ’10 More Songs!’, which documents the long miles and countless hours spent honing newer compositions and reworking old favorites. The album features 14 tracks recorded in 2012/2013 at many of their favorite New York venues, paying homage to their home state. 10 More Songs! chronicles the band’s evolution across their four studio albums from ‘07s fast-tempoed “Mind Crossing” to the dub-tinged “Greyhound” and sing-along fan favorites, “Chain Store” and “Night Shade” off Die Digital, as well as the unrecorded track “Soap”. The four-piece is also back in the studio with Die Digital producer Jocko Randall to record the follow-up EP, “Feel In Light,’ due out in early 2014.“
