“Umphrey’s McGee cordially invites you to join us for the debut of Reel To Real on the inaugural evening of 2016. This one-of-a-kind benefit kicks off with a hair of the dog happy hour with Team UM. After libations & sustenance, you’ll take your seats for the premiere of a Nothing Too Fancy Music retrospective. Comprised of unseen footage from the camcorder archives, join us as we take you on a visual journey into the early touring years of the band.
Upon conclusion of the ‘Reel’, we’ll pivot to the ‘Real’ and journey into the songs that have accompanied us through the years. The format will be a set of original music, with commentary on the history and circumstances surrounding the writing, recording and evolution of a slew of UM tunes.
In addition to the film and performance, the night will feature an open bar, theatre treats, raffle, and more. Partnering with our friends at Conscious Alliance, we will be raising money to feed those most in need, all while sending you home with a limited edition UM+CA event poster.
Reel to Real tickets go on sale Thursday, October 1st at Noon MT.”
“Paper Wheels, the new album from Trey Anastasio is now available for pre-order at Trey’s store and Phish Dry-Goods. The album will be released on October 30th on Rubber Jungle Records/ATO Records. Recorded at The Barn and inspired by the immediacy of Stax-era recordings, Trey Anastasio recorded the songs live, often in one or two takes. Paper Wheels was co-produced by Bryce Goggin and Trey, and mixed by Elliot Scheiner (Steely Dan, Van Morrison).
Paper Wheels will be offered as a deluxe limited edition that will include 180 gram 45 RPM 2x LP splatter vinyl and a die cut gatefold package with six unique sleeves. Only 4,000 of these special packages will be manufactured. A CD format and t-shirt bundles are also available for pre-order.
To celebrate the release of Paper Wheels, Trey Anastasio Band will embark on a short fall tour, kicking off with a two night stand at the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn on Oct 16th and 17th. The tour will then travel to the west coast and resume with two sold out shows night at Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas. The tour will conclude with a two night run at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver.
Tickets for all shows will be available through a real time pre-sale beginning Thursday, August 27th at Noon ET and ending Wednesday, September 2nd at 5:00pm ET at Trey Tickets. Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning Thursday, September 3rd. Please visit Trey.com for specific on sale dates and times.”

“We are more than pleased to announce the Grateful Dead’s most ambitious release ever: 30 TRIPS AROUND THE SUN . Available as both an 80-disc boxed set and a custom lightning-bolt USB drive, the collection includes 30 unreleased live shows, one for each year the band was together from 1966 to 1995, along with one track from their earliest recording sessions in 1965. Packed with over 73 hours of music, both the boxed set and the USB drive will be individually numbered limited editions. Both are now available for pre-order exclusively at Dead.net and scheduled to be released on September 18th.
The 80-disc boxed set is individually numbered and limited to 6,500 copies, a nod to the band’s formation in 1965. Along with the CDs, it also includes a gold-colored 7-inch vinyl single which bookends the band’s career. The A-side is “Caution (Do Not Stop On Tracks)” from the band’s earliest recording session in 1965 with the B-side of the last song the band ever performed together live, “Box Of Rain” recorded during their final encore at Soldier Field in Chicago on July 9, 1995.
The box also comes with a 288-page book that features an extensive, career-spanning essay written by Nick Meriwether, who oversees the Dead archives at the University of California, Santa Cruz, along with special remembrances of the band submitted by fans. Also included is a scroll that offers a visual representation of how the band’s live repertoire has evolved through the years.
The USB drive version will be shaped like a gold lightning bolt with the Grateful Dead 50th anniversary logo engraved on the side. The drive includes all of the music from the collection in both FLAC (96/24) and 320 KBPS MP3 formats and is an individually numbered limited edition of 1,000 copies.”
