Night Lights 2016

From Night Lights Music Festival 2016

“Night Lights Music Festival is designed to stimulate the eyes, ears, heart and soul through MUSIC, LIGHTS and NATURE.

THE MUSIC at Night Lights is all about showcasing local and national talent on the same stage. The festival has seen some of the most unique collaborations and special sets these artists have performed, opening minds and creating new fans year after year.

THE LIGHTS at Night Lights transforms the trail in the woods into a work of art that can be felt as much as it can be seen, and when combined with the festival atmosphere, becomes a special experience unique to our festival. THE NATURE part of Night Lights is made possible by the incredible grounds at The Heron. Whether it be spending time with friends at the campsites or walking the trails to get from one set to another, our setting adds to the overall experience at Night Lights.

After all, who wouldn’t be happier after spending a weekend camping with friends?”

Night Lights 2016 Lineup: Beats Antique, London Souls, Jimkata, Tropadelic, Broccoli Samurai, Moon Hooch, Eric Krasno Band, and More.

Dumpstaphunk Presents A Throwback Phunksgiving 1970’s Tribute Set 11.26.14

Phunksgiving 2014

From Dumpstaphunk

“Live For Live Music and Equifunk present “A Throwback Phunksgiving” evening with Dumpstaphunk featuring a special 1970’s tribute set with special guests Eric Krasno (Lettuce/Soulive), Todd Stoops (Kung Fu), Brandon “Taz,” and DJ Quickie Mart at BB King’s Blues Club on Wednesday, November 26th, 2014 at 9:00pm. The band will perform renditions of Led Zeppelin, The Meters, Parliament Funkadelic and Sly & The Family Stone and music from the 70’s.

Dumpstaphunk stands out among New Orleans’ best as one of the funkiest bands to ever arise from the Crescent City. Born on the Jazz & Heritage Festival stage, and descended from Neville family bloodlines, these soldiers of funk ignite a deep, gritty groove that dares listeners not to move. Their performances combine ingenious musicianship and complex funk and jazz arrangements with soulful melodies that are simple enough for anyone to enjoy.

In Big Easy tradition, dueling basslines from Tony Hall and Nick Daniels III set off one of the dirtiest rhythm sections on the planet, while Ivan Neville lights up the Hammond B3 keys and cousin Ian Neville’s funky guitar riffs send the groove into overdrive. They toss around lead vocals and four-part harmonies the way Sly & the Family Stone did, but with three studio albums under their belt, Dumpstaphunk stands on the merit of their own material. Songs like “Dancin’ To The Truth” off their latest record, Dirty Word (July 30, 2013, Louisiana Red Hot Records), offer an escape into the funky sublime, sharing the true spirit of New Orleans with every note.”
