Fishbone Releases Sublime’s “Date Rape” in 360 Virtual Reality in Honor of Bradley Nowell

In honor of the spirit and artistic contributions of the late Bradley Nowell, who passed away 20 years ago; LA’s legendary ska-punk-rockers, Fishbone debuts their virtual reality music video of Sublime’s “Date Rape” in “360° Experience”, live from The Roxy in West Hollywood, CA. Sublime originally released the song “Date Rape” back in 1992, off their LP 40 oz to Freedom.
“With all due respect to Bradley Nowell and the rest of the Sublime family, this is one of the many Sublime songs that cuts my heart, but its the main one I wish Fishbone would have written,” says co-founder and bass player Norwood Fisher.
One of the first Hollywood production houses to specialize in VR content, Experience 360° uses cutting-edge technology & workflows to produce original content for all consumer devices from traditional, two-dimensional access to content on phones, tablets, computers, and televisions in up to 8K resolution. The technical challenges in past attempts to create immersive virtual environments have been overcome by Experience 360°. The current challenge faced by the industry is generating compelling immersive content for this new medium.
Fishbone hits the road this week, starting May 26 in Cleveland, OH, then heads to Summer Camp Music Festival in Chillicothe, IL May 28, and many stops along the way in Minneapolis, Detroit, St. Louis and more.

Umphrey’s McGee and TourGigs Announce 2016 Couch Tour

“Couch Tour is back and we’re not messing around. UM is happy to announce yet another webcast collaboration between Umphrey’s McGee and TourGigs, bringing you the entire tour, a whopping 15 nights! We will be kicking things off TONIGHT in Cleveland, OH and bringing you every single show through the double header in Asheville, NC on February 20th. Shows can be streamed with an Event Pass for $12.99, or you can buy the Tour Pass - access to all 15 shows – for $129.99 (a $65 savings).
We are debuting some exciting new features for this tour. Firstly, anyone who purchases any show (Event Pass or Tour Pass) gets access to the replay as well as On Demand. The replay, available almost immediately after the show is over, is a looping replay of the show with no viewer controlled playback. The On Demand, available the day after the show, allows you to start, pause, fast forward etc. the entire show. The On Demand access will remain available throughout the entire tour until February 22nd. In addition, the chat room has now been optimized better for mobile, so you can have a better two screen experience of watching the stream on your television or computer while participating in the chat on your mobile device.

Mike Gordon June Tour 2015 Dates Announced

“Mike Gordon returns to the road with his band on the heels of last year’s exhilarating tour supporting Overstep. The Mike Gordon June Tour 2015 will begin down south in Charleston, SC and will include stops in St. Louis, Chicago, Philly, Albany, Buffalo, New Haven and more. Mike will perform as part of the Lowell Summer Music Series just outside of Boston and will return to the famed Egg in Albany.
A limited number of tickets are available NOW via a real-time presale at tickets.mike-gordon.com which ends Thursday, April 9 at 5PM ET. Tickets will go on sale to the public beginning Friday, April 10.
The band will make a few debuts along the way including The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, Paper Mill Island in Syracuse and a Father’s Day show at the Academy of Music in Northampton. The band’s repertoire will be augmented by hints of synesthetic mad scientist gadgetry on and around the stage.
Wired Magazine came out to a show on Mike’s March tour last year to experience and talk about the new visual, audio and interactive tech-ification that will be a part of this June run. Mike will be bringing along his band – Scott Murawski (guitar), Craig Myers (percussion), Robert Walter (keyboards) and John Kimock (drums).
“I like the idea of breaking down boundaries,” Gordon says. Of the theatrics and curiosities onstage on the Overstep tour, the centerpiece is an interactive piano-like instrument spanning the lip of the stage. At certain points during the show, touch-sensitive panels illuminate; by tapping on them, audience members trigger sounds and jam with the band as it plays. That’s just one piece of the big wacky puzzle. To experience it for yourself, catch one of the shows on this tour.”
