Keller Williams Winter Tour 2017 “Shut the Folk Up and Listen”

Keller Williams & Leo Kottke - Shut The Folk Up Tour 2016

From Keller Williams

“This winter, Keller wants everyone to “Shut the Folk Up and Listen”! Starting in January, Keller will continue his 2016 collaboration with Leo Kottke by bringing his newest project, “Shut the Folk Up and Listen” to 24 cities around the country! For this tour Keller goes back to his roots, with just an acoustic guitar, he’ll share the stage with one of his musical idols, flat picking six and twelve string guitarist Leo Kottke. This unique evening of music features solo sets by both artists and spontaneous collaborations between the two.

In addition to the 24 dates with Leo Kottke, the Pacific Northwest will get an album-release run (stay tuned for more info on this front!) and the midwest will get some Keller Solo love. ”

Mike Gordon June Tour 2015 Dates Announced

Mike Gordon June Tour 2015

From Mike-Gordon.com
“Mike Gordon returns to the road with his band on the heels of last year’s exhilarating tour supporting Overstep. The Mike Gordon June Tour 2015 will begin down south in Charleston, SC and will include stops in St. Louis, Chicago, Philly, Albany, Buffalo, New Haven and more. Mike will perform as part of the Lowell Summer Music Series just outside of Boston and will return to the famed Egg in Albany.

A limited number of tickets are available NOW via a real-time presale at tickets.mike-gordon.com which ends Thursday, April 9 at 5PM ET. Tickets will go on sale to the public beginning Friday, April 10.
The band will make a few debuts along the way including The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, Paper Mill Island in Syracuse and a Father’s Day show at the Academy of Music in Northampton. The band’s repertoire will be augmented by hints of synesthetic mad scientist gadgetry on and around the stage.

Wired Magazine came out to a show on Mike’s March tour last year to experience and talk about the new visual, audio and interactive tech-ification that will be a part of this June run. Mike will be bringing along his band – Scott Murawski (guitar), Craig Myers (percussion), Robert Walter (keyboards) and John Kimock (drums).

“I like the idea of breaking down boundaries,” Gordon says. Of the theatrics and curiosities onstage on the Overstep tour, the centerpiece is an interactive piano-like instrument spanning the lip of the stage. At certain points during the show, touch-sensitive panels illuminate; by tapping on them, audience members trigger sounds and jam with the band as it plays. That’s just one piece of the big wacky puzzle. To experience it for yourself, catch one of the shows on this tour.”

Ultraviolet Hippopotamus Hippoween 2014

Hippoween 2014From UVHippoMusic.com
“After our shows on Halloween night and the first weekend of December, we will be taking our first break ever from touring and performing on the stage. In case you missed our announcement a few months back, we will taking an indefinite break starting this winter. We have no time table in mind or determined length of a break, but will definitely be making a return when we are ready. With that in mind, these three shows will be the last times to catch us for a while.

Halloween night we will be making our first appearance at The State Theatre in Kalamazoo, MI. Joining us on the stage for the night will be a horn section led by Funktion’s Terrance Massey. Opening up the show will be the fellow Grand Rapids folk band, The Crane Wives. Also entertaining the crowd for a while will be the most rocking blues band we’ve ever played with, Andy Frasco and the U.N. from Los Angelas, CA. Many of our fans have been discussing and planning on dressing up as a Hippo song or a theme from one of our songs. We fully endorse and encourage our all people attending this show to follow suit since this is totally awesome. If you don’t want to dress up as a UV Hippo theme, just dress up anyways, it is Halloween night!

The first weekend of December we are playing Friday night in Grand Rapids at The Intersection and Indianapolis at The Vogue the following day. Both nights will be An Evening with meaning everyone that attends will be getting three full sets of Hippo each night! Both of these cities and both of these shows mean a lot to us. It is the culmination of 10 years of non stop work and 6 years of non stop touring. We would love to see all of your beautiful faces at both of them dancing in front of us. Make a weekend of it!”

Upcoming Shows
10/31/14: Hippoween 2014 State Theatre in Kalamazoo,MI – TICKETS
12/5/14: The Intersection in Grand Rapids, MI – TICKETS

Widespread Panic Fall Tour 2009

From WidespreadPanic.com
“Known for their amazing live shows and the frequency at which they tour, blues-inspired southern rock band Widespread Panic have been creating a dedicated following since forming in the early ’80s. Based on the strength of their musicianship, songs like the Billboard charting “Can’t Get High” and “Hope in a Hopeless World,” and energetic live shows, they’ve managed to rank among the top 50 grossing touring acts for eight years straight without the aid of substantial radio play, television appearances, or retail store promotion.

In December 2003, after playing annually for 18 years (adding up to over 100 dates!) and breaking sell-out records for Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Oak Mountain Amphitheatre, Philips Arena and UNO Lakefront Arena, the band decided to take a well-deserved break. But in 2005, fans nationwide were treated to Widespread Panic’s highly anticipated return to the road.”

Knollfest 2009

Berkley Avenue Knoll ~ Indianapolis, IN
August 29th, 2009

About Knollfest
The 1st annual Knollfest took place on October 4, 2008 on the Berkley Avenue Knoll and was one of a kind! The goal last year was to raise money for tangible needs in art and music departments throughout several Indianapolis Public Schools while also promoting talented up-and-coming bands in the Midwest region. In 2009, they selected one school: Broad Ripple Magnet School for the Arts as the beneficiary. The hope is to be able to donate at least $1500 to BRMSA while also helping Indianapolis and surrounding areas discover young talent, underground groups and collectives taking positive initiatives throughout our community.
Knollfest would like people to recognize it not only as a fundraiser for Indianapolis Magnet programs (BRMSA, Shortridge Middle School and Crispus Atticks), but also as a venue where people can discover bands with a professional sound. Artists who are active in their communities, and creating a buzz both in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. Many of the bands featured at Knollfest can be found playing large festivals and venues around the U.S., such as Summer Camp, Rothbury, 10k Lakes, and many more! Most of the time, these bands perform in the shadows of more familiar names, however these festivals wouldn’t be the same if it wasn’t for the wide variety of musicians who play for the love of music and will rock you all day and all night!

2009 Artist Lineup: Groovatron, Twin Cats, Ladymoon, Shaggy Wonda, Midwest Hype, Daphne from Daphne Willis & Co and more to come!

Knollfest Sponsors: Art with a Purpose, Wuhnurth Entertainment, MIDWESTpeeps, Mousetrap, Jazz Foundation, IndyFringe, NUVO, and Earth House Collective.

Knollfest is still searching for support for this event. If you are interested in being a part of Knollfest 2009 as a sponsor, vendor, or volunteer visit http://www.knollfest.com/ or e-mail me at TheHippieSeed@gmail.com.
