Camp Bisco 2016 Heads to Montage Mountain

Camp Bisco 2016

From Camp Bisco 2016

“It’s once again time to return to Camp Bisco – and we’re coming home to Montage Mountain on July 14-16. Tickets are on sale to alumni starting Wednesday, January 13 at 12noon ET, and the general public will have access to tickets on Thursday, January 14 at 12noon ET at www.CampBisco.com.

We, along with our Camp Bisco team, have learned a lot over the last year in our new home and are looking forward to making 2016 the best Camp Bisco ever – from the days spent on the waterslides and the nights spent at the stages, we’ll be working hard to make Montage the most spectacular place to spend a weekend with music and friends come July.

We listened to everyone’s input from 2015 – expanded VIP offerings, added payment plans, better service from our Camp Bisco staff and we will all enjoy a smoother, faster entry – FOR SURE! We’re also rounding out the Camp Bisco 2016 lineup that we’re excited to announce soon, and we have been unique, enjoyable, full-weekend of music on the Mountain.

For our hardcore fans, we’re stoked to announce that the expanded VIP amenities will include Wednesday night soundcheck access and a backstage BBQ with the band. There will also be exclusive VIP only late night sets with Camp Bisco artists, and special VIP viewing areas at our two largest stages – including an on-stage platform at the main stage for Super VIP ticket holders.

July can’t come soon enough! Exciting news and announcements from Camp Bisco will continue to roll in through the coming weeks and months – but, for now, one thing we know for sure is that we are Home Again at Montage Mountain!”

Wakarusa Taking Off 2016

Wakarusa 2016

From Wakarusa

“It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you that Wakarusa will take 2016 off.

Wakarusa has been a labor of love for all of us these last twelve years. We have been defiantly independent and unique since our inception. Together we created a magical 5 day event that stood out from the rest. We’ve taken great pride in what we’ve created with you and for you over the last decade plus. The Waka community (friends, family, fans, musicians, artists, performers, volunteers, staff) has really been the heart and soul of what Wakarusa IS. This community shares a natural passion for what is truly genuine. Wakarusa is wonderfully original – it is organic, mystical and always marvelously weird, and like Wakarusa, you too are decidedly different and perfectly magnificent.

As such, you deserve to know the principal reason behind our hiatus:

Wakarusa was significantly damaged by partners claiming to share our vision. Sadly, they lied. They are being dealt with appropriately through the legal system. Further, we have found that the universe is often much more effective in dealing with these perpetrators than the legal system. Regardless, it is our sincere hope and anticipation that what we have built together – we will once again enjoy on our beloved and magical mountain.

For now, we shall dust ourselves off. We must take time to recharge our faith and our energy. Passionate people do not throw in the towel because of a bump in the road. We look brightly toward the future. We will bring more music and more art and many more wickedly unrivaled memories. We know the world is a better place when there is more music and more love.

Our scrape with the unsavory has lead us to realize what is most important to us, which is all of YOU (you and you…and you too). So in our brief absence, please stay in touch and look out for each other. Take special care to really nurture what is most important in each of your lives. There is simply too much to be down or discouraged about in this world. Be the beacon of joy and hope – we need more of that in this world. So now we do ask that you share your positive energy with us. We’ll use it as our strength and inspiration to create an even better WAKA experience that is ever more magical. With your help, we will bring Wakarusa back to Mulberry Mountain.

Until then, be safe, spread your positivity and your light and remember to always remain marvelously weird!”

“Envision Festival – Costa Rica announces a world-class music, yoga, and speaker lineup for their sixth annual gathering, taking place on the majestic shores of Uvita, Costa Rica from February 25th to 28th, 2016. With the goal of creating a festival that represents the harmonious blending of many different cultures, the musical acts come from nine different countries, span three continents, and represent a wide array of musical genres.

Headlining acts include a rare Central American performance from England’s forefather of psychedelic electronica Shpongle and California’s experimental world fusion favorites Beats Antique Live. Showcasing the lineup’s musical diversity, Envision rounds out headline billing with Berlin’s deep house favorite M.A.N.D.Y., the heart melting vocals of Colorado’s Elephant Revival, and a late night reggae set from St. Croix roots legend Midnite (under their current touring name Akae Beka).

Adding to the list of headlining musical acts are the sultry bass sounds of Grouch, Spoonbill, Dimond Saints, The Human Experience, Beat Fatigue and Envision six year alumni, Random Rab, who returns to deliver another world-renowned sunrise set in the jungle. Additionally, Envision is bringing a strong representation of the underground house world with Bedouin, Lee Reynolds from Desert Hearts, Tara Brooks, Atish, and Costa Rican locals Melissa O and Ivan Cespedes. Live band local favorites include Patterns and Sonambulo. See the flyer for the full lineup with more to be announced.

Envision 2015

Envision’s emphasis on creating a platform for different cultures to coexist in a sustainable community resonates throughout the entire event as is evident in the new yoga and movement village, which features an inspiring lineup of top yoga instructors, speakers, and educators including the globally renowned and leading wellness expert David Wolfe, as well as international yoga teacher and motivational speaker to millions Rachel Brathen.

Leading yoga teachers also include the founder of the Goddess Yoga Project and renowned instructor Sianna Sherman, pioneer of the One Yoga movement in Trinidad and Tobago Troy Hadeed, and Classic Hatha Yoga master Marcos Jassan. Workshops include accomplished herbalist 7 Song, architect of the New Paradigm Astrology Cooperative Kaypacha, and Envision festival co-founder and resident permaculture expert Stephen Brooks. Additional classes range from bilingual language classes and African dance to Tai Chi and biomechanical alignment. See below for the full list of workshops and speakers released in this Phase 1 announcement.

Envision is a true festival of the future, encompassing a cultural movement, a sustainable permaculture movement, a spiritual gathering, and an appreciation of humanity and the planet. “I believe that by gathering in community out in nature, we create a rare opportunity for individuals to observe their value systems and inherent human motivations from a new or alternative perspective that is free of social conditioning. At a successful event, participants capture this moment and create from it a forever lasting positive impression.” – says Matt Siegel, co-founder of Envision.

If you haven’t seen it already, the Envision 2016 teaser video by Pure Souls Media, showcases the beautiful environment and enchanting wonderment from the 2015 gathering. The unique Costa Rican backdrop of Envision provides a plethora of other opportunities for the adventurous traveler. Enjoy surfing at sunset, trek to magnificent waterfalls, and camp in the lush jungles of the tropical landscape.

As part of extended efforts to spread Envision’s Core Values, Envision is launching a series of Education Retreats where those who wish to expand their experience beyond the festival may continue to learn and heal. The first event, Embody, takes place February 19th – 24th in Uvita, just ahead of Envision. Details online at Envision Education.
