8 shows, 6 cities, 24 hours. On June 27th The Flaming Lips will travel from Memphis, TN to New Orleans performing a Guinness World Record breaking eight shows in one day. The record is currently held by Jay-Z who performed seven shows in seven cities back in 2006. The shows will be streaming live as part of the O Music Awards.

Phish ~ New Year’s Eve Webcast

“At the end of December, Phish returns to Madison Square Garden in New York, New York for a four-show Holiday/NYE Run to close out 2011. In order to celebrate New Year’s with everyone, the band will offer live webcasts at LivePhish.com of each of their four sold-out shows (including Phish’s New Year’s Eve three-set performance) at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. LivePhish.com will broadcast a 10-camera, high definition shoot with high quality audio mixed live. Fans can tune in on their large screen TVs via HDMI-equipped PCs or Macs, as well as on Android devices, Boxee, Xbox, Wii, and Playstation game consoles.

If you’ve got alternate New Year’s Eve plans, you can still purchase the LivePhish Webcasts. Within 72 hours of each concert, we’ll post an archived video stream available only to fans who purchased the live webcast.
