Bear Creek 2015 Canceled

Bear Creek 2015

Update From Bear Creek Music Festival

Dear Bear Creek family,

“It is with heavy hearts we must announce that Bear Creek Music & Art Festival 2015 has been canceled. Bear Creek was one of the top boutique festivals in the US, and a primary reason it has been so special is because of YOU, our dedicated fans. We spent eight amazing years together filled with beautiful music, dancing, laughter and celebration, and those memories will always live on. In hopes of producing the best possible event for everyone involved, we switched our dates and tried to diversify our lineup to keep things fresh. Unfortunately, things just were not working out in our favor this year and we were not willing to let the show go on unless everything was absolutely perfect. All ticket purchasers will be refunded from point of purchase.”

Much love,
The entire Bear Creek staff

From Bear Creek
“Bear Creek Music has announced that Bear Creek Music & Art Festival will return to Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park (SOSMP) in Live Oak, Florida on a new weekend, moving from mid-November to October 1 – 4, 2015. Hosting Bear Creek earlier in the fall is expected to provide warmer weather for fans.

Steeped in the tradition of New Orleans and New York funk music, Bear Creek’s line up always provides an eclectic mix of artists and powerful big bands like The Roots, Bootsy Collins, Umphrey’s McGee, Galactic, Lotus, Dumpstaphunk and Lettuce along with genre-defining performers in world and roots music, live electronic, rock, and everything in between. As is tradition at Bear Creek, many of the bands perform on two separate dates during the weekend and several talented instrumentalists act as artists-at-large, creating memorable surprise sit-ins and inspired performances. Bear Creek also features live art, yoga and workshops, along with a charity food drive and disc golf tournament.

Recognized as one of the most beautiful live music venues in the country, Bear Creek goers at SOSMP can enjoy music on three outdoor stages and one indoor stage including the famed Amphitheater Stage, set in the midst of towering pine and oak trees decorated with Spanish moss. The park also offers guest comforts including a general store, full-service restaurant, showers and water stations.

A limited number of early bird tickets will go on sale Monday, March 30 at 10 am EST. To join the wait list for cabins, golf cart rentals and RV hook-ups, please contact Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park at (386) 364-1683. Stay tuned for the phase 1 artist announcement!”

Update From PhasesOfTheMoonFestival.com
Dear Phases of the Moon Community,

“It saddens us to inform you that Phases of the Moon Music & Art Festival has to be canceled. We were very excited to have had the opportunity to continue the Phases adventure in Arkansas this year. We apologize sincerely for this inconvenience and hope to see all of you at great live music and events in the near future. A separate notice will be sent to ticket holders concerning refunds.”

Trailer ~ Festival – A Documentary

“When 100,000 people descend on a music festival, what stories do they bring with them?

SARA, 22
Sara is an aspiring photographer and sometimes server that’s always in search of her next adventure. She’s prone to taking leaps no matter what the cost, and her infectious passion trumps all else. Wherever she’s headed, you hope she’s asks you to join.

KENNETH, 40
Kenneth “Cobweb” Griffin was a dope MC. He probably still is. But he’s also a dope suburban Dad with an adorable daughter and a prestigious day job. You think you know a lot about hip-hop? You won’t after you listen to Kenneth for five minutes.

TRAVIS, 24
When Travis was in high school, he checked into the hospital for a routine back procedure. He left in a wheelchair, paralyzed by a surgical error. He now devotes himself to his studies, live music, and poetry, emanating more swagger than his able-bodied friends combined.

JILL, 27
When you picture the kind of twenty something that dedicates their life to attending festivals, you picture Jill & her friends. Flat brims, tie-dye rave gear, and a desire to find higher meaning in their festival-going hobby. But Jill’s a recovering heroin addict, and it’s her attendance at EDM-heavy festivals that keep her sober. It’s as counter-intuitive as it sounds.

AUSTIN, 26
Austin once looked the part of a foolish festival kid, backpack seemingly full of drugs and a presumed disregard for the reality of any potential consequence. But he knows. He served 3 years for refusing to give up his acid supplier after falling in a sting operation. And it only got worse. But now Austin’s out, sober, healing himself and those like him by producing the same events he used to cruise as a dealer.

BARBARA, 28
Barbara’s from Poland, by way of Munich, where she developed her devotion to electronic music. In choosing a US destination where she could immerse herself in the English language, Barbara chose Chicago for its place in house music history. She hasn’t left, embracing a message board community of like-minded disciples that serves as her only social link to the city she lives in.

TRACY, 22
Possibly the most mature 22-year-old music nerd you’ll ever meet. An upwardly mobile young professional and proud of it. When she’s not commuting to her B2B Sales job, she’s meticulously planning her festival summer schedule. Every fest season, she hosts a group of friends on her living room floor, playing scout mom, planning meals and determining the perfect combination of sets to attend.”
