Singer/Songwriter Brett Dennen and Brazilian band, Forro in the Dark, recently collaborated to record a must-have iTunes Live Session that is available now. Dennen’s uptempo, optimistic offerings have earned comparisons to Bob Marley and Paul Simon, while Forró in the Dark is a New York-based collective of Brazilian ex-pats. Best known for their collaborations with David Byrne, The Brazilian Girls, and Thom Yorke, Forro in the Dark take the rural dance music of Brazil and update it with a New York vibe.
The EP includes reworked songs from Brett’s current album, Hope For The Hopeless, including hit single,”Make You Crazy,” a brand new song, “Joan of Arc,”and fan favorite (and New York City’s cab staple)”Blessed.” Fans lucky enough to have seen Brett Dennen and Jason Mraz perform together in October will recognize their notable duet “Long Road to Forgiveness.”
